Data Deletion Request — Spectlance Digital

Your data, your right. Under the Kenya Data Protection Act 2019, you have the right to request that we delete the personal data we hold about you. We take this right seriously and will action all valid requests promptly.

1. What Personal Data We May Hold About You

Depending on how you have interacted with Spectlance Digital Ltd, we may hold:

2. What Gets Deleted

Upon a valid deletion request, we will:

Delete or anonymise your contact form submissions from our email records and any CRM or database.
Remove your email address and personal details from our mailing or contact lists.
Request deletion of your data from third-party processors we control (where technically feasible).

For data processed by third-party platforms (Google Analytics, Facebook), you will need to exercise your rights directly with those platforms. We provide guidance in the Facebook Data section below.

3. Exceptions — When We May Retain Data

We may be unable to delete certain data where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes, including:

Legal obligations: financial records, invoices and contractual documents which we are required to retain under Kenyan law (typically 7 years).
Ongoing disputes: data necessary to defend or pursue a legal claim.
Active contracts: data required to perform an active service agreement — you may terminate the agreement first.
Aggregated/anonymised data: data that has been fully anonymised and cannot be linked back to you is not considered personal data and may be retained.

Where we cannot fully comply with a deletion request, we will explain the reason and the scope of what we are retaining.

4. Submit a Deletion Request

Alternatively, you can email your request directly to privacy@spectlance.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request" and include your name, email address and the data you wish to have deleted.

5. Timeline

Request received

We acknowledge your request within 2 business days.

Identity verification

We may ask for additional information to verify your identity and locate your data accurately.

Processing

We process your request and delete or anonymise the relevant data within 30 days.

Confirmation

We send you written confirmation that your data has been deleted, along with details of any data we were required to retain and why.

6. Facebook & Meta Data

Our website uses Facebook Pixel and the Facebook Customer Chat plugin. These services may collect and process your data directly on Meta's platforms under Meta's own privacy policy.

To delete data collected by Meta through your interaction with our website, you should exercise your rights directly with Meta:

Off-Facebook activity: You can view and clear the activity Meta has received from our website at facebook.com/off_facebook_activity .
Facebook account settings: Manage your personal data in your Facebook account's Privacy Settings & Tools .
Delete your Facebook account: If you wish to delete your Facebook account entirely, visit facebook.com/help/delete_account .
Meta's Privacy Policy: facebook.com/privacy/policy .

When you submit a deletion request to us, we will also stop sending events about you to Facebook Pixel to the extent technically feasible.
